Most community organisations now develop strategic plans to guide their work and ongoing development. But how do we make sure that our critical information and communications infrastructure can grow with us?
In this seminar Pere Ruka (the IT Manager at MacKillop Family Services) and Elaine Cope (an IT consultant with ICT Matters, working with many small community organisations including WIRE) gave a practical demonstration of how to develop an ICT Strategic Plan that dovetails with an organisation's role and strategic direction. By working through real-life examples, Pere and Elaine showed how ICT strategic planning based on qualitative principles and reflecting key organisational activities and directions is essentially similar in both huge and tiny organisations, and yields far greater value than the resources needed to develop and implement it.
